ROOKIES & CADETS
CHALLENGE RANCH CAMP - 2010/11 SEASON
The Challenge Ranch weekend will be held on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October (the last weekend of the October school holidays).
This weekend is open to all nippers aged from the Under 12's onwards. We will require parent supervision over both nights with an emphasis on 2 mothers in attendance if possible, with the usual karaoke kings that will be in attendance. It's a great weekend for the kids and I'm sure deep down even the parents have a good time as well. Invitations will be mailed shortly.
DUKE OF ED BRONZE PROGRAM - 2010/11 SEASON
The Duke of Ed preliminary walk will also be held on the same weekend as Challenge Ranch. It will start with the first night at Challenge Ranch on Friday 8/10 then the walk will commence from Saturday morning leaving from Challenge Ranch and finishing back at Challenge Ranch on the Sunday.
We will be having a progress meeting on Sunday 11th July at 5pm at the North Avoca Surf Club fot the Bronze Duke of Ed group. Can you please ensure that all participants bring along their log books and that they are up-to-date. At this meeting we will be discussing the qualifying walk and also confirmation of the dates.

Rookies
Our Rookie Program is co-ordinated by Barry Tuddenham and assisted by Julie Nusdorfer. It is targeted primarily at our senior nippers who will turn 13 prior to 31st December - essentially our Under 14 years. Rookies undertake training to obtain their Surf Rescue Certificates and will split their Sundays between regular Nipper activities, Club Champs and Patrol duties. They will mainly be allocated to Patrol 11 (Darren Hutton) or Patrol 8 (Issy Nusdorfer) to ensure they receive consistent training. This program will be completed by Christmas.
Cadets
Our Cadet Program is targeted at the age group following Rookies through to 18 years. This tends to focus on the 14-16 yrs age group once they have completed nippers and until they gain their Bronze Medallion at age 15. There is a Youth Committee for this gruop who focus on events designed particularly for the Cadets - with fundraising activities, competition, communications and patrols/training. These members patrol with either Patrol 11 or Patrol 8 and must complete a minimum of 25 hours throughout the season. Once Bronze Medallion has been awarded, these members will then be assigned to a full time Patrol (40 hours).
DUKE OF EDINBURGH PROGRAM
We are running a Duke of Edinburgh program at Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels throughout the season. We currently have approximately registered members in all Groups. If you wish to apply for this program please contact:
